2020-08-27
The 747SP VQ-BMS ( c/n: 21649 / 373 ) Las Vegas Sands, was parked inside a hangar at Lake Charles-Chennault International Airport, Louisiana in the US.
The hurricane Laura broke open the hangar doors and blew them off, allowing heavy winds to blow in and through the hangar severly damaging the 747SP aircraft.

The wing tip of the right wing struck a steel beam in the hangar creating real damage. The wing of another aircraft (most likely a 737 BBJ) cut through the nose of the 747SP.
