N144UA 747SP United ( c/n: 21026 )

United Airlines 747SP N144UA departed JFK – John F Kennedy Airport during daytime with 115 people onboard.

During climbout they had a birdstrike in engine number 4. The crew decided to return to JFK to land safely. The nose cone inlet was damaged by the bridstrike as well.

SOFIA will end operations
