Is VP-BLK leaving ?

VP-BLK Las Vegas Sands 747SP

A photo was published showing VP-BLK ( c/n: 21961 ) at MZJ (Marana, Pinal Airpark, AZ, USA)  recently, and it immediately started discussions wether it was in for maintenance or if it was leaving the Las Vegas Sands fleet.

As you can see on the photo, all 4 engines are carefully removed and the flaps are deployed etc. Could be a normal maintenance visit, if it wasn’t for the recent delivery of a A340-500 ( VP-BMS ).

So, is VP-BLK leaving Las Vegas Sands ?

Maybe not, as discussions go VP-BLK just might be switching base to an Asian base as the A340-500 will be based at LAS.

When you watch the movements of VP-BLK you can quickly see how often she is in Asia, so that would make sense.
