VIDEO OF IRAN AIR 747SP

4 HOUR VIDEO SHOWING ALL 4

Dedicated to 747SP

Finally a aviation video fully dedicated to the 747SP. It’s Iran Air who has opened up the cockpit door to my company Viking Wings who filmed and produced the video in HD quality.

Iran Air has always been very easy to work with and I am very happy to have this cooperation with them.

All 4 Iran Air 747SP

In this video I have filmed and included all 4 Iran Air 747SP’s.
Flights are included in EP-IAB (IKA-KUL-IKA) and EP-IAD (IST-IKA)
and there is footage from the Iran Air Maintenance on EP-IAA and EP-IAC together with a presentation.

As you see on the photo above, we had some very nice and warm weather in Tehran during the filming.  It was pure pleasure walking on the ramp and filming these beautiful aircraft!

The video is available for instant streaming as well as HD Download
Sit back and enjoy the trailer.

I must say that I am very happy with the footage used at the end of the full video. Very nice scenes as EP-IAC is being prepared for flight and then the takeoff from IKA.

747SP users meeting

Sharing lessons learned

During 3 days in October a special meeting took place at Palmdale, USA. It was what you could call a “747SP users meeting“.

On the ramp you could see the NASA / SOFIA B747SP N747NA parked next to the Pratt & Whitney Canada B747SP C-GTTF. Can you imagine the sight ?

SOFIA 747SP - Pratt & Whitney Canada 747SP

Both operators are operating highly modified 747SP aircraft and arranged a meeting to share lessons learned, part sources and maintenance tips.

The Pratt & Whitney Canada 747SP made a nice fly-by as they arrived at PMD

Isn’t that a sight?

Happy to hear about the meeting as they both learn lessons and can keep their fantastic aircraft in operations!

Is VP-BLK leaving ?

VP-BLK Las Vegas Sands 747SP

A photo was published showing VP-BLK ( c/n: 21961 ) at MZJ (Marana, Pinal Airpark, AZ, USA)  recently, and it immediately started discussions wether it was in for maintenance or if it was leaving the Las Vegas Sands fleet.

VP-BLK 747SP at MZJPhoto uploaded to Planepictures.net by Reiner Bexten.

As you can see on the photo, all 4 engines are carefully removed and the flaps are deployed etc. Could be a normal maintenance visit, if it wasn’t for the recent delivery of a A340-500 ( VP-BMS ).

So, is VP-BLK leaving Las Vegas Sands ?

Maybe not, as discussions go VP-BLK just might be switching base to an Asian base as the A340-500 will be based at LAS.

When you watch the movements of VP-BLK you can quickly see how often she is in Asia, so that would make sense.

Photos of destroyed Yemenia 747SP 7O-YMN

New photos are emerging from Aden Intl. Airport in Yemen as the airport has been re-captured.

We reported back in April about the attack on Aden Intl Airport in Yemen when the Yemania 747SP 7O-YMN was damaged, and yesterday we showed new photos of the remains of the 747SP showing how totally destroyed it really is.

Unfortunately it only shows how totally destroyed the Yemenia B747SP 7O-YMN really is…
